For Singers Only The Chamber Singers will meet for the first time in 1980 on Tuesday, January 8, at 7:30 p.m. at the Tryon Presbyterian Church. Anyone who enjoys singing is invited to come. The Chambers Singers was organized last year by people who wanted to sing varied music, year round, in a small chorus. Singing meetings are held every other week. Emphasis is on unaccompanied group singing. Music is chosen from among compositions written especially for small choral groups, such as madrigals, motets, rounds, etc. Singers need not have solo voices or formal backgrounds in music. The only requirements are a voice capable of carrying a tune and enough knowledge to read a part. As present members of the Chamber Singers will attest, musical skills increase with practice. One of the goals of the group is to learn to sing better, as individuals and as a group. Anyone who want to know more about the Chamber Singers may call Carole Blackburn (859-9337) or Henry Moffit (894-3451) or come to the singing meeting Tuesday night.
