Communication
Saluda, N. C.
To Property Owens and Citizens:
May I take this opportunity to
alert our citizens and -property
owners to a most dangerous
movement now underway. I refer
to the BUILDING CODE ORDI
NANCE of POLK COUNTY
NORTH CAROLINA now to be
presented to the citizenry at a
public hearing Feb. 11, 1980 at 3
p.m. at the Courthouse.
After reading and re-reading
this proposed ordinance, it is of
great concern to me that many of
our very basic rights are in
serious jeopardy. Among many
points I must take issue one of the
most ominous is the right of yours
and mine to construct our own
home.
Please take the time to study
this instrument prior to this
important public hearing and
come prepared to let your
feelings be known. Our govern
ment representatives listen and,
I believe, respond to sensible
reactions and requests from us.
WE MUST NOT LET THIS
CHERISHED AMERICAN
RIGHT GO UN-DENIED!
Thank you,
George H. Derwort,
Owner-Developer
