Tryon Daily Bulletin, Wed., Feb. 13, 1980 Charleston Spoleto The bus trip to Charleston, S. C., June 2 through June 4th, to attend the Spoleto, a city-wide festival of performing and visual arts, has been met with enthusiastic response. The chartered Trailway bus will accomodate 46 passengers and of this date 32 adults from the community have made reserva tions to attend. According to Lee Mueller, tour director, “This is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in the arts to attend, with all accommodations prearranged, yet affording the opportunity to select the shows one prefers. There will be ample free time for tours of historic Charleston and surrounding area, as well as shopping and dining in Charleston’s famous restaurants.” This cultural tour is a project of the Tryon Community Schools, offered to the adults of our area in appreciation for the support the community has given the Tryon Community School programs. For further information call Lee Mueller, 859-5428. — Reporter Mill Spring PTA Meets Thursday Mill Spring School PTA will meet Thursday, Feb. 14 at 7:30 p.m. in the school auditorium. A program will be given by the kindergarten class. After the program, there will be a tour of the library. North-South Bridge Results of the North-South bridge club at the home of Walter Ciulin were: Marv Lane and Earl Riber first, Gene Hempel and Al Daniel second, and Walter Culin and John Fischer third. Green Mrs. Martha Corn Green, 79, Rt. 2, Tryon died Tilesday at 2:15 a.m. at St. Luke’s Hospital after a short illness. She was born in Henderson County and was a daughter of late Matthew and Mary Jane Hardin Corn. She was widow of Oscar W. Green who died in 1959. $he had made her home here over 65 years. Surviving are: two sons, William O. Green of the home and Delmar D. Green of Campobello, S. C. ; one brother, Lon W. Corn of Columbus, N. C.; also 5 grandchildren and 3 great- grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in McFarland Funeral Chapel with Pastor Merle Rouse officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens.
