C. Personnel and Guidance Association in Winston Salem, has roots in Polk County. He is the son of M. C. Hoyle, a former Stearns School teacher and Ellen Hague Hoyle, a native of Columbus. His grand parents were the late Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Hague. Hoyle is principal of Wolf Meadow Elementary School at Concord. He received the award, which is presented annually to an administrator who has shown outstanding leadership in the area of Pupil Personnel Services. Dr. Mary T. Burke, professor at U.N.C. Charlotte, in presenting the award said: “Don Hoyle is an administrator whose main con cern is the well-being and support of the students as well as the staff in his school. He sets realistic' goals and assists in seeing that these goals are successfully met. He has developed innovative programs to meet the various needs in his school.” She then cited numerous examples of his achivevements.
