Tryon Daily Bulletin, Frl., Apr. 11, 1980 Neal-McSwain “Mouse-To-College” "Mouse-to-College'’ — what’s that? is the usual response of newcomers not acquainted with one of the American Cancer Society’s most unusual fund raisers. Uniquely designed to appeal to children who want to take part in the nationwide April effort to defeat cancer, “Mouse- to-College” also educates youngsters in the importance of maintaining good health habits, one of the best ways to help protect themselves against disease. Jr., whose parents live on Rt. Columbus, N. C.. recent y completed an officer rotary wing aviator course and received the silver wings of an Army aviator at the U. S. Army Aviation School, Fort Rucker, Ala. Students received training in helicopter flying techniques, including tactical instrument flying, maintenance, navigation and radio procedures. N.t Miss Wanda Susan Neal and Kerry Lane McSwain were married at Columbus Baptist Church Thursday at 7 o'clock p.m. Mrs. McSwain is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Neal of Columbus. She is a graduate of Polk Central High School Mr. McSwain is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dufay McSwain of Green Creek. He is a graduate of Polk Central High School and attended Isothermal Community College and Converse College. Mr. McSwain is self-employed. Miss Amy Neal, sister of the bride served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Marla McSwain, sister of the groom. Mrs. Meredith Neal sister-in-law of the bride and Miss Angie Sheehan. Dufay McSwain, father of the groom served as best man. The brides brother, Barry Neal ushered along with Jay Prince, cousin of the groom and Steve Searcy. The Rev. Fred Rhodes per formed the ceremony. "Some of our Crusaders will send more than one mouse to college", predicts Mrs. Potter, a retired school teacher who taught for many years in Milwaukee, Wisconsin before moving to Tryon two years ago.
