M J > Thompson Appointed Joint Master Earl Thompson of Co* was appointed Joint . ■ Foxhounds of the Try°n Hounds by the Hunt's Board of D * r ^ l ° at its annual meeting on April ^ He will serve with M^. Georg Hughslon, Jr., MFH since 197a. Arthur Farwell was named a lifetime honorary member of the board upon his resignation from the nine-member governing body of the corporation. Since 1952 Mr. Farwell has been Master or Joint Master for a total of 14 years, and has served on the board. The new chairman of the board is Mrs. Walter Lehner of Tryon. Thompson was re-elected to the presidency, and George Webster of Landrum was elected vice- president. Mrs. Frank G. Austell, III, of Psartanburg is the new secretary, and Mrs. Fred Farwell continues as treasurer. Board members re-elected by the Hunt last Sunday are Mrs. Farwell, Mrs. Hughslon, Thomp son, Webster, Mrs. Acker, and Mrs. Lehner. New members are Mrs. Austell and David Milne, and Mrs. Miriam G. Rabb of Tryon. In a report on the 1979-1980 hunting season which ended March 29, Mrs. Hughslon told the Hunt members that hounds had been out 41 times during the past season and that hunting had been generally very good, with good cooperation from landowners and plenty of native red or gray foxes Joint meets have been held with Shakerag of Atlanta, Greenville County, and Yadkin Valley. The Board passed the 1980-81 Uniforn Budget of $1,374,393. to be presented to the County Commissioners. In other action the Board voted to accept the low bid on the heating system for the middle school; the 1980-81 proposed school calendar was approved, approved Mrs. Vicky Vollmer as secretary to the Superintendent to replace Mrs. Lota Scruggs who has resigned to become self- employed; approved the Voca tional Program including Mrs. Sandy Paff. Health Occupation and Mrs. Emmie Mackay working with the Disadvantaged- Handicapped. Board appointed the following Advisory Council for Occupa tional Education: Betty Joe Tucker.
