Tryon Daily Bulletin- “Shot In The Dark Delightful Evening Marcel Achard’s play. ® dapt ^ by Harry Kurnitz, “A Shot in Dark”, is a delightful TLT to . Jeanne Hoffman and hercart w crew presented us with a p . with a mixture of intrigue, mystery and comedy. Jacqueline Brown, in the lead role as “Josefa”, was sure in her lines and graceful, yet naive in her gestures and movements. Her unusual code of conduct would delight many of the men of the world yet the women in the audience couldn't help but like this woman. Happy return to Tryon Little Theater stage. Jacque. Michael Bertelsen. hand- some, adroit, puzzled, drawn a bit to this maid, was smooth and quick with the entrapment of the villain. His growing bewilder ment at the turns and twists of the plot was perfect. Pam Palmer, who has always been a favorite actress, proved again that she has talent galore— besides her handsome looks. First she played a 16 year old girl for us, then a real vixen, then the frustrated socialite, now the wife of the new magistrate. All of these were done beautifully. Rick Pratt had many of the best lines and he shot them out with authority in goading the magi strate and teaching him the twistings and turnings of the ways of a Paris judge Rick always does an excellent job Chip Kessler was stern, dismay ed annoyed in his difficult part and he accomplished this, and more with aplomb. Another fine role down for him. Lee Miller and Johanna Linch as the two aristocrats who were more autocrats, were excellent Johanna is a real asset to and Lee has more tha‘ x this worth. This play is the last of the 1979-80 season but we will have one more opportunity to all get together — Jack Kendall, president of TLT. has announced that TLT’s annual business meeting will be held at Hearthstone Inn on- Monday. June 2nd at 5:00 p.m. There will first be the business meeting at 5:15 followed by socializing and a “bring-your-own” picnic. Better put down that date now. — TLT Reporter Herman Shehan Herman H. We had wanted to visit Tryon for some time and found that the town lives up to its splendid reputation — incidently our daughter’s married name is "Tryon". The only regret we had in leaving is that time there was much too brief and we had no opportunity to meet any resi dents who went thru the experience of building a home there while living far off in another state. (The idea some how scares us). Maybe we should take an ad in the Daily Bulletin asking if some of them might want to correspond and share their ideas with us. We are already anxious for another visit — the sooner the better! Thank you again for being helpful and friendly. Sincerely. Judy Norz Box 69 RRI Sears.
