Many youth have been in at the Landrum Branch to get reading records and books. After reading their first five books, their name is to be written on a ribbon and placed on the Sprinter Winner section of the bulletin board. Eric Page was the first reader to get his reading record, and Cathy Tucker was the first to get her name on a ribbon as a Sprinter, and Caroline Greene was first as a Decathlon winner. When ten books are read, they will advance to the Decathlon Winner section and when 26 books are read, their ribbon will be placed on the Marathon Winner Section. Summer Reading Olympics began June 2 and will continue through August 14.
