C. died Tuesday from injuries received in a motorcycle accident. Born in Armsterdam, Holland, he was a sen of Helen Cora Litchfield and John E. Collins of Willston Park, N. Y. He was a chiropractor. In addition to his parents he is survived by 6 brothers. The body was sent to Willston Park for burial. The Tryon Crafts’ workroom displaying the exhibits will be open week days from 10 to 12 and 2 to 4 and on Saturday morning June 14 when the wood carving class will be in session. — Crafts Reporter Red Cross Youth Leadership Camp Students entering the 9th — 12th grades in the fall are eligible to apply for a scholarship to the Red Cross sponsored Youth Leadership Camp held annually at the Chrstmount Assembly in Black Mountain from July 20 — 26 this year. The camp program focuses on the development of leadership skills, and the delegates have a chance to meet together and develop an awareness of humani tarian service. Sports will include swimming, hiking, basketball' and tennis. There will be special interest classes on arts and crafts, photography, music, physical fitness and camp newspaper. Mini- courses will be held in Multimedia first aid, CPR, Vital signs, Beginners Swimming, Disaster Training and Red Cross School Programs. Interested students should contact the Polk County Chapter Red Cross office for delegate applications. Delegates will be selected by June 15th. The chapter office is in the Tryon Depot Building and is open on Monday, Tuesday and Friday mornings. Gordie Howe ended his spectacular hockey career Wed nesday after 32 seasons of hockey. He said his great thrill came during the 1979-80 season when he was able to play on the same line in the NHL with his sons Marty and Mark. He has played in 2,421 major league hockey games and scored 1,071 goals. He was the NHL’s most valuable player six times, won the scoring championship six times and played in 22 All-Star games.
