McSwain-Searcy Mrs. Steven Ben Searcy Marla Lorraine McSwain and Steven Ben Searcy were married Friday evening June 13 at 8 p.m. at Green Creek First Baptist ''hurch with the Rev. Jack D. Weaver officiating. A reception was held in the church social hall following the ceremony. Mrs. Searcy is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dufay McSwain of Green Creek. She is a graduate of Polk Central High School, Spartanburg Technical College and University of South Carolina in Spartanburg. Mrs. Searcy is a RN at Camphaven Nursing Home in Inman, S. C. Mr Searcy is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Ben Searcy of Sunny View. He is a graduate of Polk Central High School and attended Isothermal Community College. Mr. Searcy is a paramedic at St. Luke’s Hospital in Columbus, N. C. Green Creek Field Day Winners The following students were the grade winners in the annual Green Creek Elementary School Field Day. UNC Polk County Alumni Chapter Carolina Book Award in Math and Science went to Perry Price and the English and Social Studies Award to Stewart Walker. National Merit Scholarship finalist: Steward MacWilliam. Geometry: Janet Smith. Algebra I: Tim Helton. Algebra II: Perry Price. Mon., June 16, 1980 Mrs. Jeffery W. Bayard Molly Elisa Bailey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert B. Bailey of Charlottesville was married June 7th at St. Paul’s Church, Ivy to Jeffery W. Bayard. He is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Walter Bayard of Tryon, N. C. The Rev. James Cunningham, and Rev. George Wyer officiated at the ceremony. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an original gown of silk organza, and re-em broidered alencon lace, elabor ately accented with seed pearls and iridescents. Her chapel length Mantilla was of silk illusion with alencon lace appliques and a border of lace. Matron of honor was Georgan- ne Griffin of Raleigh, N.C., maid of honor was Sylvia Bailey of Charlottesville, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Dorothy Ziegler of Charlotte, N. C., Terri Moore of Monroe, N. C., Mitzi Bayard of Salt Lake City, Utah, sister of the groom, and Bonnie Bishop of Charlottesville. Best man was Dr. Walter Bayard, father of the groom.
