Wednesday morning there was a delightful rain. Rockwell International Corp, has purchased 253 acres near Fletcher for the construction of an automotive manufacturing plant. It’s Principal Auto motive products are axles, brakes and drivelines, but the company has expanded its automotive lines into electronic systems and fiberglass reinforc ed plastic products. Il is expected to provide 750 to 1000 jobs. The Country Style Steak and Chicken Dinner is tonight from 6:30 to 9 p m. at St. Lukes C.M.E. Church. Ohio are the weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs George F. Leingang, Dughill Trail, Tryon. The Johnsons have been on a golfing vacation in the Pinehurst area and are looking forward lo playing the Tryon Country Club while here.
