C. 28782 Vosburgh Gets Two More Awards Grant Vosburgh of the Fayette ville Times. Fayetteville won two more state awards at the N. C. Newspaper Institute Program Jan 29 And 30 at VNC-Chapel Hill. Mr. Vosburgh, a native of Tryon, won two-third place awards in the daily newspapers with 15,000 to 35.000 circulation One of his articles was titled, "Blimey: The Pirate Captured His Dreams'" was in the feature writing caregory and "The Greek: Hard Work Helped Him Beat The Odds" was in the Sports Feature Writing. Mr Vosburgh is a graduate of Tryon High School and UNC- Chapel Hill He is the son of Mrs Ed King and Dr George Vosburgh. both of Tryon. Buy Home Mr. and Mrs. D. Culberson Mrs. Gladys Hamrick Culberson, wife of Paul E Culberson died Friday morning in St. Luke's Hospital. Mrs Culberson came to Polk County in 1942 as County Home Agent and five years later after marriage she was Home Economics teacher in Tryon In 1951, when Miss Mae Irene Flentye resigned as Executive Director of the Polk County Red Cross. Mrs Culberson was appointed to take her place Since resigning from the Red Cross in 1971. she has taken on many civic responsibilities.
