N.C 859-6008 I^I NATIONWIDE O INSURANCE Osborne Hannon Osborne Hannon, 82, of Tryon, widower of Jane Logan Hannon, died Wedesday in White Oak Nursing Home. A native of Tryon, he was a son of the late Noble and Ella White Hannon. He was a World War I veteran and was a member, deacon and treasurer of Garrison Chapel Baptist Church. Surviving: half sister, Clementine Miller of Long Island N. Y.; foster brother. Dr. Booker T. White of Greensboro. Services were held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Garrison Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev J. W. Johnson, Rev. J. 0. Smith and Rev. Copher Burns officiating. Burial was in the Tryon Cemetery Pilgrim Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Lelands Featured Sunday's Asheville Citizen- Times had a feature article by Clyde Osborne on Edwin C. Lealand and E. Cater Leland. Jr. of Saluda The article "Saluda Phone Company — A Two-Man Show" told of the operation of the Saluda Mountain Telephone Company by the two men The Saluda firm has 900 customers and 1.335 operating telephones. Edwin C Leland is the president- general manager and his son, E Cater Leland. Jr. is the secretary-engineer.
