The Tryon High School Senior Play, "Rest Assured” is Thursday at 8 p.m in the Tryon Elementary Auditorium. The play is a comedy in three acts. Special Meeting For Commissioners There will be a special Commissioners meeting at 12 noon, Thursday, May 28th at the Hearthstone Inn. The meeting will be with the State Emergency Management Personnel. To Graduate Catherine Sue Davis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Seth Davis of Mill Spring will graduate from Centre College, Danville, Ky. on May 31st with a degree in Biology Elizabeth Ann Solesby During the May 25th commencement exercises at the North Carolia School for the Deaf, at Morganton, N. C. Elizabeth Ann Solesbv. daughter of Mr. and Mrs Lowell Solesby of Red Bird Road, Tryon was the recipient of several outstanding awards. Ann was the Valedictorian of her class. She received the Board of Director's Prize which is presented to the senior having maintained through (our years of high school the highest grade point average. She was presented the Annual Dixon Scholarship, a $2,000 award, which is presented to the outstanding student excelling in academics as well as being active in sports, and a participant in student government. Ann also managed the volley ball and basetball teams Ann will be attending East Carolina University this fall majoring in medical technology. Annual Meeting For Saluda Medical Center The Saluda Medical Center will hold its Sth annual Community Meeting on Friday at 7 p.m. at the Saluda School Cafeteria The covered dish supper is sponsored by the Saluda Woman's Club. Reports about the history and progress of The Medical Center will be presented. There will be an election of three members of the Board of Directors. All persons who live within a five mile radius of Saluda and are eighteen or older are eligible to vote in this election Memorial Day Service Satuday Polk County Memorial Post 9116, Veterans of Foreigns Wars, will conduct a Memorial Day Service, Saturday, May 30th at 11:00 a m in the Polk Memorial Gardens The graves of the deceased veterans will be decorated with an American Flag The Polk Central Band will provide the music Roy Quinn, Past Department Commander will be the speaker. The Post will participate in the usual ceremony and the public is invited The Post asks all the churches to whom flags were donated, to please display them on the graves of veterans on or before that date.
