For a happy, fascinating and really enjoyable read, come get your signed copy on Friday! $5.95 Sheltered Workshop The annual picnic for the clients of the Sheltered Workshop at Pearson's Falls was rained out this year so it was changed to an indoor picnic at the Congregational Church. The very ample picnic lunch with seconds of everything on the menu, was on the table when 2 van loads of guests arrived from the Workshop. The Reverend Mr. Richard Jackson was a special guest and gave the invocation. Following the lunch Leonard Porter led in the always popular singing of their favorite songs with John Matthews the new director of the Shop accompanying them on the piano. To take the place of the nature walk at the Falls films were located. The clients literally doubled over with laughter at that old Hal Roach Comedy "The Little Rascals." The committee under the chairmanship of Mrs. Martin Long who planned the day and furnished and prepared the food included Martin Long. Mrs. Walter Culin, Mrs. Harold White and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Zettel. Additional food was contributed by Mesdames Dorothy Benedict, Essie Owen, Hilda Safford, Ruth Locke, Grace Stanley and Veta Moltzau. Some of workshop because of the clients of the could not come a committment for work due at a mill by the last of May. A generous supply of picnic food was sent to them. The guests were helpful and appreciative. One seemed to express the feeling of all when she said, "I sure am coming back next year if I am alive.' A rain on a picnic day is a disappointment but a switch in plans made it a happy day. One that not only the workshop people will but the committee remember. — Reporter Ruth E. Cloud, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Cloud, has arrived home after completing her freshman year at Kendall College. Evanston, Illinois. She can now be seen in a walk-on part in the movie “Final Exam” which was shown in Spartanburg.
