The proposed FY 1981/82
Budget for the Town of Tryon
calls for a tax increase ’from 0.40
cents per $100.00 of assessed
value to 0.47 cents per $100.00 of
assessed value. The loss of some
$23,219 00 from Polk County for
participation in the Tryon
Communications Center
accounts for the major need to
increase Town revenues. The
Town Board of Commissioners
has determined that it is in the
best interests of the citizens of the
Town of Tryon to continue the
Tryon Communications Center to
answer calls and dispatch for the
Police Department, Fire
Department and Public Works
Departments. Other losses in
revenue to the General Fund
include decrease in distribution
of ABC profits.
The proposed FY 1981/82
Budget includes new water rates
for residential customers outside
Town limits. These water rates
will be increased by
approximately 14%. The
Town Budget is available for
public inspection at Town Hall
during regular business hours.
The scheduled Public Hearing on
the FY 1981/82 Budget is Monday.
June 29th at 7:00 p.m. at Town
