Army warrant officer has been arrested for selling top-secret coding information to the Soviet Union between January 1963 and July 1964. He is being held in lieu of a 5500,000 bond. While the heat wave and drought hasn't been beneficial to South Carolina's crops, officials with the Clemson Extension Service say the only crop adversely affected has been corn. Many farmers have plowed the corn fields and planted other crops. C 28782 Graves Going To Bolivia; Bolivian Weavers Coming Here Hank Garden, project director for the North Carolina Partners of the Americas, has announced that the exchange of craftsmen between North Carolina Partners and the Bolivian Partners as proposed by the Tryon Committee has been approved. The first North Carolina Craftsmen have been chosen to go to Bolivia in August of this year. Hank Graden said that Claude and Elaine Graves, the owners and operators of the Little Mountain Pottery in the Peniel Community were chosen not only for their skills as a craftsmen, but also for their knowledge of the language. The purpose of their visit will be to share their craft with the potters of Bolivia and to identify Bolivian craftsmen to visit North Carolina. The North Carolina Partners have also announced that the Bolivian Handweavers identified by Dr. Marion Oettinger on his last visit to Bolivia are planning to come to North Carolina in September of this year and will be hosted by the Tryon Partners Committee. Their purpose will be to visit weavers in Western North Carolina and to demonstrate and teach their skills. The process is simple and quick and the demand for whole blood and plasma continues to be heavy so the Red Cross is urging as many people as possible to donate blood on Monday. New Hours For Social Services Jack D. Bryan, Director of the Polk County Social Services has announced that the new office hours beginning Monday, July 20th will be from 7 a m. to 3 p.m. These new hours are due to problems with air-conditioning in the Jervey-Palmer Building. These hours will continue until the problems are solved or cooler weather arrives.
