Mrs. Benjamin Wilson Jeanette Bates and Benjamin Wilson were married on July 25, at Long Creek Presbyterian Church in Bessemer City. The bride is the daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Robert A. Bates of Mill Spring. The groom is the son of Mrs. Frances Wilson and the late William Wilson, Sr. of Bessemer City. The bride was given in marriage by her father. The bride's gown was designed by her sister. The gown was of Reception was held following the ceremony in Long Creek Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall with Joyce Bates Fortenberry of Mill Spring. Mrs. Mary Blevins Mrs. Mary Polly Blevins, 55, widow of D. J. Blevins, Holly Hill, Columbus, died Tuesday in St. Luke’s Hospital. A native of Pikesville, Ky., she lived in Columbus for 20 years She was a daughter of the late Lendo and Lydia Jane Sloan Justice. She was a retired nurse and a member of the Tryon Church of God Surviving are: a daughter, Mrs. Penny Case of Columbus; sisters, Mrs. Verlie Thatcher, Mrs. Hazel Smith and Mrs. Lassie Taylor of Pikesville, Mrs. Garnett Matthews of Okeechobee, Fla. and Mrs. Bertha Maynard of Fedscreek, Ky.; a brother, Albert Justice of Liberty, Ky ; 2 grandchildren. Services will be held today (Thursday) at McFarland Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Don Littleton and Rev. Lewis Braswell officiating. Burial will be in Scott Blevins Cemetery, West Jefferson, N. C.
