Davis of Albemarle She is a graduate of Tryon High School and attended Blue Ridge Technical College. She is employed by Milliken & Co. in Spartanburg. The bridegroom is the son of Mr and Mrs. Charles Hammett and the late Dewey F. Harrison of Inman, S C. He is a graduate of Landrum High School and Limestone College He is a computer analyst with Milliken & Co. in Spartanburg The matron of honor was Mrs Linda Fincher of Tryon The bridesmaids were Miss Kay Davis, sister of the bride of Tryon; Miss Debbie Flynn of Tryon; Miss Amanda Thompson of Winston-Salem and Miss Kathy Hawkins of Anderson, S. C. Charles Hammett of Inman, S. C. was the best man. The ushers were James Hipp of Boiling Springs, S. C., Robin Carlisle of Spartanburg, Eddie Price of Inman and Joel Turner of Landrum. Following the wedding a reception was held in the Tryon Presbyterian Church house After a wedding trip to the Bahamas, the couple will live at Townhouse Apts., Apt. 6, Lyman. S. C. C. and William Earl Newman, Jr. of Tryon were married Saturday, August 8th at 7:00 p.m at the Hickory Grove Baptist Church. Rev. John T. Edwards, pastor, performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mrs Reba W. Hodge of Landrum and the late Rev Billy R. Hodge. She is a graduate of Landrum High School and attended Spartanburg Methodist College. She is manager of Big Top Deli in Westgate Mall, Spartanburg, S The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Newman of Lynn. He attended Tryon High School and is employed at Carolina Yarn Processors. Mrs. Loretta Vance of Columbus, the bride’s sister, was matron of honor. The best man was John Newman of Tryon, the bridegroom s cousin. The ushers were James Newman, the bridegroom's cousin, of Landrum and Joe Foster of Tryon. Robbie Vance of Columbus, brother-in-law of the bride, sang at the wedding. Lesley Bush of Columbus provided the organ music.
