C. 28782 Tod Waldrop Day The Landrum community will sponsor a Tod Waldrop Day on Saturday, September 26, on the Landrum school property The purpose of this day is to establish a Tod Waldrop Scholarship Fund for Landrum area handicapped college students. The Tod Waldrop Day idea began with a group of people interested in assisting Tod, who was paralyzed in a November 1980 car accident, continue his college studies at Clemson University. Tod was a 1980 Landrum High School graduate. The all day festivities will begin with a pancake breakfast and will conclude with an outdoor evening square dance. Various community groups will sponsor a variety of events throughout the day. Additional plans and details will be announced in the coming weeks. A talent show is being planned for the Tod Waldrop Day. The show, will begin at 7:00 p.m. Persons interested in registering for Ilie talent show can pick up applications at 0. P. Earle Elementary School, Landrum High School and the Radio Shack in Landrum. There is a $5 00 registration fee. Registration forms are due by Sept. 19. Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Hill of Landrum. The maternal great- grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Howard of Landrum and Mrs. Anna Cagle of Travelers Rest. Paternal grandparents are Mrs. Jennie Jones of Tryon and the late Walter Jones The paternal great grandmother is Mrs. Leila Bishop of Tryon. Durham’s In State Tourney The Durham Construction Women's Softball team plays today in the Class C State Softball Tournament at Taylorsville.
