They heard two speakers, Douglas W Continued On Back Page Class Of 1932 To Have Reunion The Tryon High school graduating Class of 1932 will hold its 50th Year Reunion Friday, April 30th at the Lake Lanier Tea House. The Class Officers were: Fred Swann, President; Josephine Kelly, Secretary; Fred Ravan, Treasurer. The Valedictorian was Edith Missildine and the Salutatorian was Tip Jervey. Other members of the class were Bertha Palmer, Ruth Blackwell, Dallas Wofford, Bertha Blackwell, Cornelia Williams, Mary Foster, Myrtle Lindsey, Lucille Galloway, Annie Maude Plumley, Minnie Henson, Evelyn Covil, Marion Palmer, Thomas Jones and Walter Newman. This Friday, the twelve living members of the class will meet for the first time since graduation for their reunion. Those attending are Minnie Henson Roten (Amos) of Lyons, Oregon; Josephine Kelly Craytor (Russell) of Rochester, N.Y.; Edith Missildine Collum, Duluth, Minn.; Mary Foster Lamb (Carroll) of Hendersonville; Bertha Blackwell Green (George) of Wrightsville Beach; Lucille Galloway Baker (Paul) ot Gastonia; Bertha Palmer. They will have two teachers at Continued On Back Page Polk Jaycees Elect Officers The Polk County Jaycees have elected Philip Culbreth as President. Other officers elected are Larry Hamrick, Internal Vice President; Ellis Fincher, External Vice President; Mike Collins, Secretary; Steve Page, Treasurer. The directors are Jerry Burrell, George Bridges, Tim Ballew and Carroll Barnett. Jaycees To Help With Beautification The Polk County Jaycees Tuesday evening, voted to establish with the Polk County Community Foundation the "Tryon Downtown Beautification Project” to provide for the maintenance and landscaping of the John W. Cowan Memorial Garden and adjoining areas along the Trade Street area. During the past years, the Polk County Jaycees have been assisting the Town Central Business District Committee in the planting of azaleas and general landscaping along Trade Street. The Jaycees have been dedicated to being involved in community projects such as the Town Central Business District Committee’s downtown beautification project. It is the hope of the Polk County jaycees through this initial and further annual contribution commitment of $50.00, that other civic clubs and individuals will oarticipate in keeping the Town of Tryon the number 1 town for beautification in North Carolina. Vandal . . A vandal or vandals did abou $1000 damage to cars par*™ Stott’s Ford, Inc. last Tuesday night. Tryon Police Chief Jerry Ross said that six new cars and one used car were scratched. Arrested Tryon Police Officers Billy Steppe and Bobby Denton arrested Guy King of Forest City and Ellen Daniel Dale of RI. 1, Rutherfordton Wednesday at 10:45 p.m. King was charged with possession of stolen property (a license tag) and Dale was charged with oossession of stolen property (a license tag), no insurance on vehicle and improper registration. Democrat Women Meet Tonight The Polk County Democrat Women wiU meet Knight at y^ at the courthouse.
