about one-tenth of the annual
volume and is moved in a
three-week period.
The Area Mail Processing
concept has helped save time
used in handling mail but this
system has not eliminated the
importance of mailing early.
?Early in the day (to meet*
every flight, etc.)
--Early in the Christmas
Reason (to avoid disappointment
to friends and family and
to give U.S.P.S. a chance to
kebp ahead of mail volumes).
Take advantage of the tips
on wrapping packages for
mailing.
--Use cardboard containers.
?Delicate articles should be
marked -FRAGILE.
?Address packages correctly
and legibly.
-Use Zip Codes.
Pay very close attention to
dates for mailing as they are
released by your local post
office through the different
news media such as radio,
newspapers and television.

described as an excellent
illustrator of the human
figure, portraying it graphically
sensually, and with a hint of
wistfulness of things remembered.
While his most expressive
medium is pen-and-ink, he is
equally at home with oils,
watercolor, and pencil. How- ?
ever, he prefers watercolor,
because he considers it the
most versatlve medium with
which to work.
He is currently working on a
series on the black women in
America.
