If you buy a Christmas tree,
be sure it's fresh. Needles
should be hard to pull off. The
trunk butt should be sticky
with resin and when the trunk
is bounced on the ground,
there should not be a shower
of falling needles.
Erect the tree in a sturdy,
water-holding stand. And
