Walser - Pastor Morning Worship 11:00 A.M. 1435 E, 4th Street tkmk EASTER ROUND UP Sunrise service was held at St. James AME Church Sunday leginning at 5:50 a.m., which featured a love feast, individual estimonial and group singing. The Rev. J. E. Davis, presiding ;lder of the Western District,of the African Methodist Episcopal :hurch spoke at a fellowship breakfast after the service. The lev. Lewis Werts, the choir and members of Werts’ ongregation at Union Bethel AME Church joined the St. James nembers in the celebration. After breakfast, the earlyworshippersjoined with the Sunday ichool in its regular Easter celebration. The Rev. J. T. ifcMillan, pastor, delivered the sermon at the 11 a.m. worship ind a baptismal ceremony was held after the sermon, after vhich the church folks went to the Union Bethel Church for inner. CATHEDRAL CHOIR OF GOLER The Cathedral Choir of Goler Metropolitan AME Zion Church Jresentedits annual performance of “The Seven Last Words of 'hirst,’ by Dubois, at 7 p.m. Sunday in the church sanctuary, he 40-voice choir, directed by Alvan Damon, featured John Williams, baritone, a guest soloist. Other soloists were Shirley Damon, soprano; and William box, tenor. Mrs. Louisa L. Foy played the organ and Robert dorris played the piano. FIRST CALVARY CHOIR The Senior Choir of First Calvary Baptist Church presented > annual Easter Cantata, “Immortality,” at 6:00 p.m. Sunday the church. Mrs. Mamie Waiters coordinated the lerformance. ST. STEPHEN BAPTIST Missionary Day was observed with a service at 3 p.m. Sunday t St. Stephen Baptist Church, The Rev. Calvin Banks, associate linister of Mount Zion Baptist spoke. Mrs. Virginia Wilson was 1 charge. The Sunday school department presented its annual Easter rogram at 7 p.m., in the main auditorium. Mrs. Willie Mae hamers was supervisor.
