Fireworks are shot into the sky, As you go riding by. We give presents and gifts too1*11 even give one to you. Christmas is a happy time That's why I wrote this rhyme. ' V \ \ The Wh?fen Sibm Chronicle Eastern Si by Azzle Wagner Staff Writer ? . u'!- , ' ? ft Mrs. Elizabeth Gray Worthy Matron ['76] Queens of Olympic Chapter #620 Order of Eastern Star (O.E.S.) and Brothers of Queens of Olympic Lodge #795 held their annual ^Christmas banquet in the Hauser Student Union Ballroom ?on ?the campus -of Winston-Salem State University Saturday evening, Dec. 20. After meditations, a brief history, and a melodious rendition of "Silent Night" by The Gray Sisters Trio, Mrs. Minnie Williams Payne, Program Director for Thomasville Recreation Dept., delivered the annual address. Sister Larn Dilliard was Mistress of Ceremonies. Mrs. Payne told an J! - r ? - auaience 01 more tnan luu people that, "It is fitting that you come together at this season when that most widely acclaimed Star of the East announced the birth of man's savior, Jesus." In her enlightening speech about the significance that the Order of Eastern Stars play, Mrs. Williams reminded the "Queens of Olympic" that they were not to have inclinations like movie stars and have a tendency to fade into the past for fear of age. "Instead," said Mrs. Payne, "each year should help you shine brighter for you should not hide your lights but place them on top for the world to see and to help all .Tien."
