Andrews family are ardent
fishermen, or fishing persons.
Another surprise was to learn
of George Hill, president of
Winston Mutual Life Insur-,
ance Company, hanging a
lunker bass, around S pounds,
on a plastic worm. I am trying
? to figure out just wheir George,
was bitten by the fishing bug.
Must have gotten the fever
when he became exposed to
the recreational atmosphere of
Badin Lake. Badin is noted
nationally for bass fishing.
One can also eniov bream.
crappie, white perch, yellow
perch, white bass, and
channel cat fishing on the
lake. For the best white bass
fishing go up the stream from
Badin to the Tuckertown Dam.
Nearby the Idol Dam has
'produced some good crappie
and white bass fishing.
I still want to emphasize the
importance of fishing during
the next 8 weeks. This will be

the time when you will likely
catch that . trophy fish. To
fulfill that desire you must be
there at the right moment,
b That is the secret of trophy
fishing, so keep that line and
?hook?in?the-water-until the
spawning season is over.
Again, get your state
fishing license and pick up a
copy of the state's fishing
laws. Don't be discouraged by
the return of cold weather, it
won't last. Watch those fish,
they have to spawn for nature
will have it's way. Your tackle
determines the type of action
you will get when fishing.
Light tackle will work well on
pan fish or small bass, but if
you plan to go after the big
ones I feel that the tackle
should match the fish.
Do some practice casting.
Good casting places and
presents your bait where it
does the most good.
