Cosmetologists from Region IV encompassing the states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North and South Carolina met in the swank Downtowner Motor Inn for a cross-region exchange of ideas about the very latest trends in the world of beauty. This year's flamboyant theme was "Beauty Is A Service, No Diamonds Can Buy It." The National Hair Designers Guild which is the highest " branch of the League was also well-represented with such figures as the National Assistant to the President Ms. Gladys Davis and Mrs. Joseohine Thomas. Finanrial Secretary and treasurer. According to a representative, a cosmetologist becomes a member of the Guild after extensive training beyond the normal courses in beauty care. After an extensive training program and careful screening and testing, membership is gained. Only three beauticians locally are members of the Guild. They are Mesdames Barbara Wardlow, Anna Leake, and Minnie Ervin. Activities of the Region IV meeting consisted of business classes in "Haircutting and Shaping" by Mr. Jim Sutton (Phila.
