' Barber recently joined Wachovia as asset management
account manager. He is a native of Springfield, Mass.,^
and a graduate of the University of Miami.
Mrs. Hinton joined Wachovia in 1969 as a trust
trainee. In 1971 she became a trust assistant, her present
position. She is a native of Winston-Salem.
Ms. Stern joined Wachovia in 1972 and in 1974 became
a trust assistant. In 1978 she was named capital management
assistant and is currently capital management administrator.
A native of Englewood, N.J., Ms. Stern is a
graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel
Hill.

Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools today announced
its policy for free and reduced price meals for
children served under the National School Lunch and
vSchool Breakfast Program.
School officials have adopted the following family size
and income standards for determining eligibility:

Application forms are being sent to all homes in a letter
" lo parents. Additional copies are available at the office in
|ach school. The information provided on the application
is confidential and will be used only for the purpose
of determining eligibility. Applications may be submitted
at any time during the year. A statement of income and
family size is required, plus a signed certification by the
parent, guardian, or other adult household member that
$he information provided is correct.
: Under the provisions of the policy the principal of each
school will review applications and determine eligibility,
if a parent is dissatisfied with the. decision of the determining
official, he or she may wish to discuss it with the
official on an informal basis. If a parent wishes to make
formal appeal, he or she may make a request either orally
or in writing to Mr. Palmer Friende, Associate
Superintendent, P.O. Box 2513, Winston-Salem, N.C.
29102 (telephone: 727-2013) for a hearing to aDDeal the
decision. The policy contains an outline of the hearing
procedure.
If, during the year, a family member becomes
unemployed or if the family's size or income changes, the
family should contact the school. Such changes may
make the children of the family eligible for additional
benefits, if the family income falls at or below the levels
shown.
? All children are treated the same regardless of ability to
pay. In the operation of child feeding programs, no child
will be discriminated against because of race, color, or
national origin.
I Each school, the Cafeteria Office, and the Department
.at Business Affairs has a copy of the complete policy,
which may be reviewed by any interested party.
