mine too! Let's just hang in there and keep it all together
with this prolific poetry this week. A young man

My Barren Hilla ?

The sun sits high in the sky today,
I know it's going to be a scorcher!
The weatherman predicts rain.
But what does he know? ? ' *

. Something inside of me,
constantly torments me to
: wander about.
; 1 tried reading a book, .
My head lying dreadfully
on t^e soft chickenfeathered
pillow.
My mind not able to concentrate
On the plot of an Alfred Hitchcock _
mystery.
My eyes catching, every now and then,
That rainbow ray from the sun penetrating
Through my, then shabby, red curtains.
: I "resisted" the temptation
but not for long.
To the window in one big movement^
1 opened it to catch the
sun and the little breeze,
That was stirring at that
time, which was not much.
-
Choking from taking too much in my nostrils,
A little of it escaping to my food tfack.
This beautiful day seems to take a special
effect on me.
I couldn't resist the chance
of capturing and putting this day
on paper. ,
The trees standing tall, swaying
back and forward as though it wanted
to bend and touch toes.
The sky their bluer than ever.
The sun looking like

My gosh, looks like a Chinese laundry!
The grass is greener than new money,
Looking as though it wanted

The grass grows a few inches thereibut

Spirits seem to haunt the hill,
When no one plays there,

Now that summer is gone,

S I must get out my winter things.

God bless you summer,
? Yes, Autumn was brief, and nowI
must live through
'^winter, and hope that
frdoesn't scourge my barren hill.
