Sealed proposals for the construction of the above-named project
will be accepted at the place and until the time shown above,
and, immediately thereafter, publicily opened and read. The proposal
shall provide for the furnishing of all labor, materials, tests, '
inspections, requirements of each contract. Proposals received
after the time and date specified above will not be considered
Separate proposals will be accepted for consideration of the
award of the contract for the following types of work:

The work consists of Alterations & Additions to Club House
(addition approximately 1040 sq. ft. of floor area), plus site improvements;
new golf cart storage building, (approximately 3750
sq. ft. of floor area).
A complete set of documents may be obtained, by those prime
contractors qualified and who will make a bid, upon placing a
doposit of one hundred dollars (5100.00). The full deposit will be
returned to those submitting vona fide proposals, provided the
plans and specifications are retuujid to the proper authority in
good condition and within five daysafter the date set for receiving
bids. (Sub-contractors who desire sets of plans and specifications
for their own use will be charged cost of reproduction and handling.
Each proposal shall be accompained by a cash deposit, a
cashier's check or a certified check on some bank or trust company
insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in an
amount equal to not less than 5 percent of the proposal, or in lieu
thereof/ abidder may offer a bid bond executed by a corporate
surety licensed under the laws of North Carolina to execute such
bonds, conditioned that the surety will upon demand forthwith
make payment to the obligee upon said bond if the bidder fails to
execute the contract in accordance with the bid bond,
and upon failure to forthwith make payment, the surety shall pay

The deposit shall be retained if the successful bidder fails to execute
the contract within 10 days after the award or fails to give
satisfactory surety as required herein.
All contractors are hereby notified that they must have proper
license under the State laws governing their respective trades at
time of submitting the bid. Consideration will be given only to bids
of contractors who submit evidence showing that they are properly
licensed to bid and perform the work described herein under an
"Act to Regulate the Practice of General Contracting" ratified by
the General Assembly of North Carolina in March 10, 1925, and
? subsequently amended.
Wage rates paid for labor must be not less than the prevailing
area wages as determined by the Secretary of Labor, pursuant to
the provisions of the Davis-Bacon Act wage decision applicable for
the project location.
Bids may be held by the owner for a period not to exceed sixty
(60) days from the date of the opening of bids for the purpose of
reviewing the bids and investigating the qualification of bidders
prior to awarding of the contract. No bid may be withdrawn after
the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids.
Performance bonds and labor and material payment bonds will
be required in the amount of One Hundred Per Cent (100) of the
contract price. Bonds shall be in conformance with North Carolina
General Statute, Article 3, Chapter 44A. !s
Payments will be made on the basis of Ninety Per Cent (90 percent
of monthly estimates), and final payment shall be made upon
completion and acceptance of the work.
Work must begin after the receipt of written notice from the Ar
chitect to proceed and executed with all due speed until completed, 4

The Experiment In Self-Reliance, Inc. is inviting sealed bids for
the furnishing of two (2) meals each day for up to 21 participants,
seven days per week, including holidays. Bids will be received until
1:00 p.m. EST on the 27 day of Jan. 1984, at 1621 East 3rd Street,

will be publicly opened and read aloud.
Sealed bids are requested for the furnishing of meals for the
period beginning March 1, 1984 through Feb. 28, 1985, to be
delivered to University Place, 1625 East 3rd street, WinstonSalem,
N.C., two deliveries per day to University Place.
