The book, "Books, Bricks and Buses -- The . Story of Education in Fors syth County," will be published in connection with the 100th anniversary of the organized schools in Winston-Salem and Forsyth County. A committee of 13 has been at work more than two years researching the history and gathering papers and_ pictures which will be made a part of the publication to be printed-by Hunter Publishing Co. The book will start with the development of the Moravian education tradi' tion, which became a part Sgf the early schools here, and "will carry, through to today's public and private schools in the WinstonSalem/Forsyth County area. A part of the book will be the history of the black schoois in the city and county, their traditions and their teachers.
