Gaston "The Grave" It was cold that evening. The trees were bare. * .? I went to the grave, but all I could do was stare. What could I say to my dear, departed friend Nothing really, except I'm sorry I didn't come to.see you when you were so near your end. H was getting dark, but I couldn't leave. 4 _ . i i i sai aown oesiae net tombstone and sfarted to cry. Looking up to the heavens, I asked why^why did my friend have to die? Searching within myself, I found the answer. Acceptance and understanding. Marvin K. Gaston Submit your poetry to Poetry Corner, the WinstonSalem Chronicle, P.O. Box 3154, Winston-Salem, N.C. 27106.
