Miss Sarah Kathe
Miss Sarah Katharine Watson
M iss Sarah katherine Watson, of 3709 Prospect
Drive, died March 12th at Forsyth Memorial Hospital.
She was a native of this city and a faithful member of
Goodwill Baptist Church^She was employed in the home
of E.W. O'Hanlon family.
Surviving relatives are three brothers, Mr. Harvey
Watson, of this city, Mr. George Watson of Clemmons
and Mr. De Edward Watson of Durham and other
relatives.
Funeral Services were conducted March 17th at 1:00
p.m. in the Chapel of the Hooper Funeral Home with
Rev. R.Q. Allen officiating. Interment followed in the
Goodwill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Hooper Funeral Directors were in charge of services.
Mrs.
Mollie Holcombe Cates
Mrs. Mollie Holcombe Cates, of 1204 N. Gray
Avenue, died March 14th at her residence. She was a
native of Spartanburg, S.C. and had lived in this city for
the past twenty-eight years. She was a faithful member of
the Galilee Baptist church.
Surviving relatives are four daughters, Miss. Edna Bernice
Cates, of the home, Mrs. Mildred Montgomery of
this city, Mrs. Bennie Miller of Wellford, S.C. and Mrs.
Virginia Bobo, of Southington, Ct.; five sons, Mr. Bravel
Cates of the home, Mr. Homer Cates, of Inman, S.C.,
Mr. L.C. Cates, Mr. Beauford Cates both of Spartanburg,
and Mr. Fletcher Cates of Hartford, Ct; sixteen
grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and other
relatives.
Funeral services were conducted March 17th at 2:00
p.m. at Reidsville Baptist Church with Rev. J. Copeland
officiating. Interment followed in the Church Cemetery.
Hooper Funeral Directors were in charge of services.
Mr. Doshie Donnie Mcintosh
Mr. Doshie Donnie Mcintosh, of 1252 Waughtown
St., died March 16th at Medical Park Hospital. He was a
native of Scotland County, N.C. and had lived in this city
for the past thirty-nine years. He was a faithful member
of the First Calvary Baptist Church, a Veteran of World
War II and was a retired employee of R.J. Reynolds
Tobacco Co.
Surviving relatives are four daughters, Miss. Jennie
Mcintosh, Miss Rosa Mcintosh, Miss Eula Mcintosh,
and Miss. Doris Mcintosh all of the city; three sons, Mr.
Donnie Mcintosh, Mr. Carl Mcintosh, and Mr. Will
Jones Mcintosh all of the city; five grandchildren and
other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted March 20th at 4:00
p.m. at the First Calvary Baptist Church with Dr. W.L.
Wilson officiating. Interment followed in the Evergreen
Cemetery. _

Veterans Administration Hospital after an extended
period of illness. He attended the public schools of this
city and was a honorable Navy veteran of World War II.
He Was employed at F.W. Murrell and Sons, selfemployed
as a trucker and rock mason.
Surviving relatives are one son, Ronnie White; two

Branson of this city; three grandchildren; two aunts; one

Forsyth Funeral Directors were in charge of all services.
Miss Charlotte Frances Peebles
Funeral services for Miss Charlotte Frances Peebles, of
Rt 3, Advance were conducted March 11th at 2:00 P.M.
at the Mt. Sanai AME Zion Church with Rev. R.Q. Allen
officiating. Interment followed in the Church Cemetery.
Surviving relatives are two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Dulin of
the home and Mrs. Pat Carson of Mocksville; one
brother, Mr. J.V. Peebles of the home; one uncle; one
aunt and other relatives.

Mr. Vernon Leroy Hunter
Funeral services for Mr. Vernon Hunter, of 1732 Harrison
Ave., were conducted March 12th at 12:00 at the
Reynolds Temple CME Church with Rev. James Goodwin
officiating. Interment followed in the Evergreen
Cemetry.
Surviving relatives are his wife, Mrs. Sharon B. Hunter
of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Kizzy Hunter and Miss
Vena Hunter both of the city; one son, Vernon Hunter
Jr. of the home; three sisters, Mrs. Vickie Hairston of the
city, Mrs. Brenda Cunningham of Fac1<? Idaho anH Mrc
Lydia Scott of Ft. Collins, Colorado; three brothers, Mr.
Donald Hunter, Mr. Johnell Hunter and Mr. Stanley
Hunter all of this city; his mother, Mrs. Jessie Crockett;
his father, Mr. John Jeter; stepfather, Mr. Oscar
Crockett, III all of this city and other relatives and
friends.

Mr. Theodore Woodward
Mr. Theodore Woodward, of 626 Voss St, died March
12th at N.C. Baptist Hospital. He was a native of Columbia,
S.C., and lived in this city for the past forty years.
He was an employee of Burlington Mills and was a
veteran of World War II.
Surviving relatives are five sisters, Mrs. Mary
Hairston, Mrs. Bessie Lyles, Mrs. Carolyn Walker, Mrs.
Delois McDaniel, and Mrs. Geraldine Bitting all of this
city; one brother, Mr. Calvin McDaniel Jr. and other
relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted March i 5th at 2:00
p.m. in the Chapel of the Hooper Funeral Home with
Rev. W.A. Hauser officiating. Interment followed in the
Evergreen Cemetery.
