The Rev. Benjamin A. Mack Mack to speak at rally The Rev. Benjamin A. Mack and the members of Morehead Avenue Baptist Church in Durham will be the T guests at Providence Baptist Church in Kernersville on Sunday, April 29, at 4 p.m. for the church's annual One . Hundred Dollar Day Family Dinner and Rally. Mack, a native of Winston-Salem and a graduate of - Atkins High School, attended Winston-Salem Teachers : ^uuege, now w msion-satem state University, and did further study at Piedmont Bible College and the Seminary of Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte. He holds a bachelor's degree in theology and doctor of divinity degree from Miller University School of Religion in Plainfield, N.J. He also holds a certificate in pastoral counseling from Bowman Gray School of Medicine and Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem. Mack was awarded the 1971 Minister of the Year plaA que by the North Carolina NAACP for Christian leadership for racial justice. He is the founder of New Hope Baptist Church in Winston-Salem and has erected four new churches in the course of his ministry. He is married to the former Miss Ollie Gricr of Winston-Salem. They have four children. Gospel concert to begin 'Praising the Lord in Song" will be held at St. John C.M.E. Church Saturday and Sunday, April 28 and 29, beginning at 7:30 p.m. each night. The Rev. John L. Adams Sr. is the pastor. Gospel groups and singers from Salisbury, Tobacrj-coville and Winston-Salem will appear on the two-day v.. program. Admission is free. Surviving relatives are one son, Mr. Earl Wells of the city; one brother, Mr. Marvin Body of Baltimore, MD.; four grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted April 22, at Johnson's Home of Memory Chapel with Rev. S.F. Hairston officiating. Interment followed in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. Johnson's Home of Memory Funeral Directors were in charge of services.
