Wachovia and Branch unanimously approved a Learning about business By NAOMI McLEAN Chronicle Columnist In business, the qualities of good judgment, absolute integrity, a knowledge of human nature and an appreciation of the importance of the personal factor are basic fundamentals for which there is no substitute. Anyone who wants to be informed about any kind of business should bear in mind the fact that there are just two ways oflearning anything: by chance and by conscious intention. Of course, the first way is a hit-or-miss method. Everybody learns something just by sitting around. The other -- and far more effective way ? is to concentrate on a planned program of learning. Naomi's View i NAOMI Mclean ujk \ *9KI The idea of learning something is that you find out more about it in a day than you might absorb in a year. ; The absorbing process is fragmentary and incomplete. You may go for months without coming in contact with fundamental points. The first quality that everyone needs to develop is the habit and disposition of looking into things. Get a bird's eye view of the whole; learn what the general kinds there are and the important parts of each; and, finally, learn the particular part you need to use. With the growth of business, the demand for businesstrained people grows, too, and business education achieves its objective when it makes students employable in business. The better the training, the greater the opportunities. We are living in a challenging and exciting time - a time which calls for the best that lies within us. The question of Where, How and Why ? especially Why - gets quickly to the point of what is necessary to know about any phase of business or business management. I "Bai helped ma letter n ?; ? .
