"Winston-Salem has good places to shop," Williams
says. "1 guess that's why I'm excited about revitalizing
downtown for more shops."
Another added convenience is that Winston-Salem is
closer to home, she says, which makes Charlotte even sj
more accessible than before. ?
Williams, who says she believes that others will be
receptive to her ideas because she knows the ins and outs
of making money, says she doesn't see herself becoming
complacent with the area. Rather, she says she sees
potential in her ability to attain some goals w hile here.
"1 think there's a lot of things 1 can do here," she says, i
Intrigued by the effect the arts in Winston-Salem has
had on the rest of the state, Williams, who is a member of
the North Carolina Association of Minority Businesses,
says she's excited about becoming a community and civic
worker. In Durham, Williams says she was an active
member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., the

"1 plan to become affiliated with those organizations

method.
Wright says floatation has also been proven to increase
academic performance. Instead of the soft music, the student
would listen to lecture tapes or whatever it is the person
desires to learn.
"I plan to teach my daughter Spanish through the tank
this summer," says Wright.
Floatation serves as a stimuli to the brain, thus causing
it to secrete the hormone endorphins, which is the reasor
for the euphoric feeling, and, according to research, the
reason why people find it easier to give up smoking, lose

Wright says she finds the greatest advantages of the
tank are becoming aware of ones inner-self and talking to
God.
"People should stop focusing on buying houses and
cars," she says. "If you're not still sometimes and focus\

Channel 2's "P.M. Magazine" will feature a seg>

The office is located at 1068 W. Fourth St. for those
