Although the league is currently operating without a budget and doesn't keep official statistics, there are more than 55 players participating on its eight teams. "We have some very good players in the league," said Edrington. "The players range in age from 19 to about 32. "Many of the guys we have played college basketball and the others had the ability to play on the college level," Edrington added. "Some of the top players are taaie Jordan, who is a senior at Johnson C. Smith, Tobe Jackson (formerly of J.C. Smith), Sydney Wilkins, Mike 'Pop Bottle' Thomas, Kelvin Marshall and Vincent Brown." * Some of the older players in the league were standouts in high school and continue to play basketball to stay in shape. They include Coley Phelps, Sam Campbell and Rodney Massey. Edrington said the major problem the league has faced is coming up with funds to pay its referees. Other than that, he said, the league has operated smoothly. At season's end, EdrjmHy or friends lal Occasion, lemorial cards. trjcqn Heart elation JG FOR YOUR LIFE :ACTURING CO.
