Other hosts were spouses of the Watson's children and grandchildren. Children on hand to help the couple celebrate were Clarence G. Watson, Henry N. Watson and Mary W. Ross, all of Winston-Salem; G. Verdell Watson and Sarah E. Watson of Clemmons; Clephus B. Watson of Detroit, Mich.; and Jerome J. Watson of Clarksville, Va. The Watsons have 14 grandchildren. Anderson of 5912 Stoneybrook Circle, has completed recruit training at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in Parris Island, S.C. During the 11-week training cycle, Cook learned the basics of battlefield survival. He was introduced to the typical daily routine that he will experience during his enlistment and studied the personal and professional standards traditionally exhibited by Marines. He participated in an active physical conditioning program and gained proficiency in a variety of military skills, including first aid, rifle marksmanship and close order drill.
