She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is employed with Pearle Vision Center in New Bern. The groom is the son of Mrs. Ernestine Mock of WinstonSalem. He received a bachelor's and a master's degree from the UNC-CH and is employed as a counselor with the Pamlico County School System. State Mechanism meeting on Saturday, Sept. 8 at the Hyatt Street YWCA in Raleigh with the Raleigh section president, Mrs. Mary Mallette, welcoming^ all the attending sections. Devotions I I 1 k M? Dr. Manderline Scales, the state president from WinstonSalem, presided over the business session and a memorial service was held in honor of the deceased members from all sections. Scales asked the sections to concentrate part of their meetings on a parental seminar and to educate parents on self esteem, academic studies, follow-ups on scholarship^, membership dues, youth activities and black history. Every section is supposed to devote a few minutes of their meetings to honor some black achiever. After four hours later, the teeth have been invested with plaster, the wax boiled out and the gum mixture packed in place over the teeth. Then everything is placed in a bronze flask fbr the last step - packing and curing. After the teeth have cured in boiling water, they are taken out and the teeth and gums are separated from the plaster. After a little hammering, the pink gums and properly placed teeth emerge from the plaster and are ready to be polished before the final fitting. Arranging an upper, lower or full denture plate to fit the contour of an individual's jaw take patience and precision. "Personalized dentures required three or four appointments, as opposed to the one-day service, or economy dentures," Dr. Nicholson said.
