The NAACP's announcement
last weekend that the Food Lion
grocery chain had signed a "Fair

said Eugene McKinley, Food

resources.
" ... Th? agreement does

McKinley said the Salisburybased
grocery firm signed a statement

before the nine-week-old boycott

telephone interview Tuesday
afternoon. "It shouldn't be confused

In a letter and copy of the

the agreement is not binding.
