Aftet^ initiation ceremonies, a fellowship dinner was served. ? -j. - J I Angel Biggs is pi Larry M. Biggs has been elected assistant vice-president at Wachovia Bank and Trust Co. in Winston-Salem. Biggs has been with Wachovia since 1982 and is an account officer for the Northeast Region of the National Banking Group. He earned a bachelor's degree from N.C. A&T State University and a master's degree in business administration from Atlanta University. Biggs and his wife, Loretta, have one daughter and make their home in Clemmons. A week foi By SUSAN HUNT ^ Chronicle Staff Writer This was the week for the arts in the Triad area. It began last Wednesday nighi at the Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art when black to town to introduce his Pulitzer Prize-winning play, "A Soldier's Play." Arts lovers also enjoyed a special treat Thursday night at Aycock Auditorium in Greensboro. Douglas Turner Ward, founder and director of the Negro Ensemble Company which performed 44A Soldier's Play," played the role of Sgt. Waters in the local production. Ward had played the the role in only one other performance. After the production, members of the Negro Ensemble Company relaxed during a reception in R.J.'s at the Hyatt House. Friday night was just as spectacular. The Steven's Center was the focal point for the arts with the presentation of Fats Waller's "Ain't Misbehavin'." Eddie M Miss Chm homecoml Angel J. Chavis of High Point, a freshman majoring in communications at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, was named the university's 1984-85 homecoming queen. Chavis was crowned on Saturday, Oct. 27, during halftime of the soccer game between the UNC-G Spartans and the , Generals of Washington and Lee I T * .. ? T V ?^ university. uinc-U won the match 7-0. Chavis was elected to the honor over five other candidates in balloting by the UNCG student body.
