The Ebony Fashion Fair began
in 1958 as a means for local civic
and charitable groups to raise
money. Since its inception 26
years ago, the Fashion Fair has
-grown from a 10-city show to a
nationwide tour of nearly 200
cities and tow^s, and has raised
more than $17 million for charity.
Proceeds from Friday night's
show will go to the Urban League
Guild of Winston-Salem.
As a special attraction, More
cigarettes, a co-sponsor of the
fashion tour, will donate a matching
mink hat and muff or fling
to be given away as a door prize
during the show. The ensemble
was designed by noted New York
furrier James McQuay.
