Carlus B. Watson, a junior at
East Forsyth High School, has
been selected for the 1985 session
of the North Carolina American
Legion Tar Heel Boys' State,
which will be held at Wake Forest
University.
North Carolina Boys' State is a
six-day, intensive workshop in
state government and politics.
Watson will participate in a
variety of activities that are
designed to improve the participants'
awareness and
understanding of the organization
and operations of government
and politics, as well' as
public policies that are being
debated currently in North
Carolina.
He is the son of Henry and
Magdalene Watson and a
member of Emmanuel Baptist
Church.
At East Forsyth, he is a
member of the National Honor
Society and the football team. He
is also a member of the Carver
recreational basketball team and
the Weightlifting Club....
Sylvia Ann Bullard, was
awarded the Winston-Salem and
Twin City Kiwanis Club Scholarship
at Forsyth Technical College.
Bullard is a 1985 graduate of
East Forsyth High School and the

Service, a division of Off Campus
Sportswear, recently hired 50
people to paint curb addresses in
Winston-Salem neighborhoods.

Hargrove, son of Mary H. Conner
of 618 W. 14th St., recently
reported for duty with the Third
Force Service Support Group on
Okinawa.
Hargrove, a 1983 graduate of
R. J. Reynolds High School,
joined the Marine Corps in July
1984.
Marine 2nd Lt. David A.
Peacock, son of Lois and George
Wilson Jr. of 4430 Old Lexington
Road, has completed the ground
supply officers course at Camp
Lejeune.
During the 12-week course,
Peacock learned the technical
and leadership skills needed to
manage a supply account in Fleet
Marine Force and non-Fleet
Marine Force units.
He also studied the support activities
supply system procedures,
which emphasize the duties of the
individual unit supply officer.
Peacock graduated from
Parkland Senior High School. He
