We are acutely aware of the fact that without the support of our local media (newspaper, television and radio) our ability to raise the funds needed for this most im portant cause would be greatly diminished. We recognize the great service you perform and that it amounts to many, many thousands of dollars given freely to our community. You are truly special ... and truly appreciated. As a non-profit health organization, we are of course unable to return any direct monetary benefit to you, but we can and do make sure that we let other businesses in the communi ty know that in helping us, you achieve a very high positive pro file in the community. As you are probably aware, our chapter serves a 10-county area: Alamance, Caswell, David son, Davie, Forsyth, Guilford, Rockingham, Stokes, Surry and Yadkin counties. We have tried to consolidate our chapters into major media marketing areas in order to serve the community bet ter and make it easier for you to work with us. We recognize that you have thousands of requests annually for public service from various and sundry organizations that sometimes have four and five chapters in a given area. We are trying to attain the goal of making our requests worth your time and ours .... Please feel free to make any suggestions that you feel would make our cause more successful and your business dealings with us easier. Again, wonderful cause. lllll■llllllllllllllllllllllllllillllllllllll thank you for your contribution to our Marian Blunk Media and Promotions Director March of Dimes Birth Defects Foundation I I Ill mil pinion From Page A4 iiilllllllllilliiiiillllliiiiii kUrban League, however, is inj a direction that we think is y important. ifs called “The Male Respon- ityCampaign,” and the cam- jn's motto is, “Don’t make a lyif you can’t be a father.” isprogram recognizes that in a itythat shreds black egos like iie paper, making a woman ipiant is for some young men the only way of proving manhood.
