Paoe A12-The Chronicle, Thurs< Boys' Club The Salvation Army Boys' ;Club began its summer program in May with a trip to Chattanooga, Tenn., and the club ' recently wrapped up the summer program with a special event. mpmhprt th? ! Keystone Club Conference held in Tennessee in May. They were ! Marvin Fulwood, Tim Young, ; Andre Jordan, Bernard Jordan, ;Earl Langley, Bruce Brown and ; Delano Barnes. The summer program had an . enrollment of 225 boys and had a ; daily average attendance rate of 185 boys. It provided programs for boys ages 6 to 18 and gave them the opportunity to become involved in activities designed to broaden their horizons. The program concluded with ^an^wards ceremony. More than 75 boys were honored and ! presented trophies and ceri tificates of recognition. Three young men were named Honor Boy of the Month; they were James Jones, June, Edward ! Summers. Julv. and Kenneth ; McLeod, August. McLeod was also named Best ; Camper, Livingstone ori The^Jew-Student Orientation Program was held Aug. 17 to 24 at Livingstone College, and several Winston-Salem residents were among the participants. The program, organized under the theme, "The Challenge for Excellence in Education," featured a history of the school, standardized testing, college survival skills workshops, SAT testS' and a "Get-Acquainted Dinner and Dance." Speakers included Dr. William H. Greene, the school's president, Dr. Olivia T. Spaulding, vice president for academic affairs, and Lula N.
