Deaths and funerals From Page B9 MR. HALIQUE BRISTOL JONES MRS. BARBARA McCRAY DODD Mr. Halique Bristol Jones of 1716 Thurmond St died Monday, Feb. 13, en route to Forsyth Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Lee County, S.C., and moved to Winston-Salem at an early age. He attended the local public schools and was a member of Union Baptist Church, where he served as chairman of the Trustee Board for more than 25 years. He was the owner and operator of H.B. Jones Grill for 43 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II. He was a past master of Bivouac Lodge No. 503, Prince Hall Masons, and he was a member of the Ralph R. Morgan American Legion Post No. 220. He served as vice president of the Piedmont Checkers Club. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Martha G. Jones ? of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Paul and Quintella Jones; one grandson; one sister, Mrs. Eadie M. Black of Winston-Salem; one great granddaughter; one nephew; one great-nephew; five stepchildren; two aunts, Mrs. Mary Bristol of Hampton, Va., and Mrs. Eunice Wingate of Winston-Salem; his father- and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. James and Bessie Faison of Aberzn; three sisters-in-law; 17 step grandchildren ; eight step-great-grandchildren; several other relatives and friends. Services were held at 3 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 17, at Union Baptist Church, with the Rev. B J7. Daniels offi- , ciating. Burial followed in Evergreen Cemetery. Clark S. JACQUELINE RORIE HIGGINS Mrs. Jacqueline Rorie Higgins of 3013 Fondly Road died Thursday, Feb. 9, at Forsyth Memorial Hos pital. She was a native of Winston-Salem and attended the local public schools. She was a licensed practical nurse at Baptist Hospital. She was a member of Zion Memorial Baptist Church, where she served in the Young Adult Missionary Group. She was a member of Meridian Chapter No. 308, Order of Eastern Star, Prince Hall Masons. She is survived by one son, Mr. Tremaine Rorie of the home; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry T. Rorie; one sister, Mrs. Ramona Griffin of Indianapolis; two brothers, Mr. Tom Rorie Jr. of Winston-Salem and Mr. Aaron T. Wollman of Atlanta; her paternal grandmoth er, Mrs. Annie B. Rorie; her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey L. Rorie, Mr. and Mrs. James Rousseau, and Dr. and Mrs. Lorenza Dixon of Indi anapolis; three nephews; a brother-in-law, Mr. Bryon Griffin of Indianapolis; several other relatives and friends. Ounleith Ave. died Friday, March 3, at Lamb's Nursing Home in High Point.. Born to Mrs. Prudence Fulp Hooper and the late Mr. Carey Hooper on Oct 8, 1919, she was a graduate of Atkins High School and a former member of Mount Zion Baptist Church. She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Prudence F. Hooner of the home; two mints, Mrs. Birdie Hairston and Mrs. Eva Martin, both of Winston-Saiem; many other relatives and many friends. Services were held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 5, at the chapel of the Hooper Funeral Home, with the - Rev. George Mitchell officiating. Burial followed in Evergreen Cemetery. Hooper Funeral Home was in charge of the funeral arrangements. MISS ANGELA MICHELLE STEWART Miss Angela Michelle Stewart, 25, of Raleigh died Saturday, Feb. 25, at Charlotte Memorial Hospital. Born in Kinston to the late Mr. and Mrs. Elijah and Angela Moore Stewart on Sept 28, 1963, she was an employee of the North Carolina State Correctional Institute, where she worked as a counselor in Raleigh. She is survived by two brothers, Mr. Bryan Stewart and Mr. Elijah Stewart II, both of Raleigh; her grand mother, Mrs. Elma W. Moore; an uncle, Mr. Donovar Harper, many other relatives and friends. Services were held at noon on Wednesday, March 1, at the Hooper Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Serenus T. Chum officiating. Burial followed in Ever green Cemetery. She was an employee of the Winston-Salem Housing Authority as a chore worker. She was a Baptist and attended New Light Baptist Church. He was born in Salisbury on Oct. 27, 1946, attended the Davidson County public schools and received an associate degree from Guilford Community College. He had lived in Winston-Salem for the past 12 years. He was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church USA in Salisbury and was an employee of Duke Power Co. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, a member of American Legion Post No. 220, Salem Lodge No. 139 and King Solomon Consistory No. 64. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Shirley P. Miller of the home; two daughters, Ms. Tonya Miller and Ms. Ver mona D. Price of Salisbury; two sons, Mr. Rodney A. ' Miller of Salisbury and Mr. Alex D. Miller of the home; a stepson and daughter-in-law, Mr and Mrs. Almaurice and Karen Smith of Winston-Salem; a foster daughter, Ms. Kendra L.
