MADGE MILLER MOCK Mrs. Miller Mock, 94, of Knollwood Hall died Saturday, Jan. 13, at Forsyth Memorial Hospital. She was bom in Leaksville on Aug. 3, 1895, but had lived in Winston-Salem for 81 years. She was a member of Friend ship Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Willing Workers Club. She was a former member of the Rich Avenue Flower Club and was a retired employee of R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co., Factory No. 8. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Doris B. Grasty of Winston- Salem two grandsons, Mr. Rick Duckett of Wichita, Kansas, and Mr. Kenny Duckett of Winston-Salem; one great-grandson, Mr. Phillip Duckett of Wichita; a granddaughter-in-law, Mrs. Latita Duckett of Wichita; a niece, Mrs. Elsie Davis of Hillside, N.J.; a nephew, Mr. William E. Sims of Los Angeles; a great-niece, Mrs. Carolyn Smith of Houston, Texas; several other relatives and friends. Services were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 17, at Forsyth Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. S.E. Tyndall officiating. Burial followed in Evergreen Cemetery. ADLER GRAVES Mr. Adler Graves of 2516 Ansonia St. died Monday, Jan. 15, at High- smith Rainey Memorial Hospital in Fayetteville. He was a native of Den mark, S.C., and had lived in Winston-Salem since 1954. He was of the Holiness faith and was a retired employee of the Western and Southern Railroad. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Carolyn Moody of Washington; one sister, Mrs. Miriam Saunders of Olar, S.C.; one granddaughter, Ms. Sonya Moody of Temple Hill, Md.; three devoted nieces, Mrs. Dorothy Beasley of Ogden, Utah, Ms. Effie Mae Hardey and Mr. Odell Chrismon, both of New Jersey; a nephew, Mr. Alex Harrison of Flint, Mich.; many other relatives and friends. Services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 20, at the Hooper Funer al Home. Burial followed in Evergreen Cemetery. Hooper Funeral Home was in charge of the funeral arrangements. DIANA MARIE JONES CARPENTER Mrs. Diana Marie Jones Carpenter of 747 Colton St. died Saturday, Jan. 13, at Forsyth Memorial Hospital. She attended the local public schools and graduate from Atkins High School and Winston-Salem State University. She was a substitute teacher, director of kindergartens and kept foster children for 10 years. She was a member of Union Bapdst Church, where for many years she was the director of the kindergarten program. She was a member of the Rose of Sharon Flower Club. She is survived by her husband, Mr. Howard Carpenter of the home; one daughter, Ms. Carol D. Jones of Winston-Salem; one grandson, Mr. Christopher Jones; her mother, Mrs. Annie Mae Jones of Winston-Salem; several foster children; two stepsons, Mr. Michael Carpenter and Mr. Howard Gynn of Winston-Salem; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Linda Johnson of Winston-Salem; a foster daughter, Ms. Tahita Jones; three sisters, Ms. Sadie Brown, Ms. Allie M. Jones, both of Charlotte, and Ms. Gladys Little of Mineral Point, Miss.; three aunts, Mrs. Marie Howell, Mrs. Pattie Hunt and Mrs. Maggie Howell, all of Winston-Salem; one uncle, Mr. Joe Als- brooks of Winston-Salem; three sisters-in-law, Ms. Myrtle Carpenter, Ms. Dorothy Gray and Ms. Helen Robinson, all of Winston-Salem; two devoted friends, Mrs. Claudia Foote and Ms. Peggy Ann Spencer; several other rel atives and friends. Services were held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 17, at Union Baptist Church, with the Rev. B.F. Daniels officiating. Burial followed in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. Clark S. Brown and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of the funeral arrangements. MR. WILLIE CLARENCE HANEY SR. Mr. Willie Clarence Haney Sr., known as Jug, of 212 Gerald St. died Saturday, Jan. 20, at Baptist Hospital. He was a lifelong resident of Forsyth County and a retired butcher. He was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church and Salem Lodge No. 139, PHA. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Fannie T. Haney of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Brenda Scott of South Boston, Va., and Ms. Shawnee Haney of the home; two sons, Mr. Willie C. Haney Jr. of Pasadena, Calif., and Mr. Johann C. Haney of Winston-Salem; five grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Ida Wilson of Winston-Salem; five brothers, Mr. Eugene Haney, Mr. Walter Haney, Mr. Woodrow Haney, Mr. Warded Haney, all of Winston- Salem, and Mr. Anthony Haney of New York City; his mother-in-law, Mrs. Louise Tomlin of the home; three aunts; one uncle, Mr. Nora Haney of Winston-Salem; many other relatives and friends. Services were held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 24, at New Bethel Baptist Church, with Dr. Jeixy Drayton officiating. Burial followed in the family plot in Evergreen Cemetery. Gilmore’s was in charge of the funeral arrangements. MR. JAMES REDELL STINSON MRS. EARLINE K. MCDONALD Mr. James Redell Stinson of 1505 E. 16th St died Thursday, Jan. 18, at Baptist Hospital. He was a native of Coridge and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Cox and Mrs. Bertha Moser, both of Asheboro; two brothers, Mr. Marvin W. Stinson of Asheboro and Mrs. Earline K. McDonald of 5350 Old Walkertown Road died Mon day, Jan. 15, at Baptist Hospital. She was a native of Rock Hill, S.C., and had moved to Winston-Salem at an early age. She attended the public schools and graduate from Carver High School. She attended N.C. Central University in Durham. She later moved to Washington, where she worked for the Library of Congress as a librarian until her retirement due to illness. She later became a patient of Pell Care Nursing Facility. She was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church, where she was very active in the Sunday School and BTU. She is survived by several cousins, Mr. Gerald Mobley and his wife, Mrs. Frances Mobley, both of Winston-Salem, Mrs. Bertha Lee Robertson of Raleigh; an aunt, Mrs. Georgia M. Jeter of Asheville; eight other cousins, an uncle, several other relatives and friends.
