Bulls are victorious Continued From Page B1
Bulls clutch shooting that decid
ed the outcome.
Kenneth Allison was the
leading scorer for the Bulls with
10 points.
Carl Sheperd, who hit a key
three-point shot late in the con
test, chipped in with eight
points.
For the Pistons, Walter Fun
derburtc led the way with eight
points.
Kenny Harris followed up
with five points for the tourna
ment runners-up.
Like many of the youth bas
ketball leagues around the city,
the Carl Russell league benefits
from the sunnort it gets from
players* parents who cheer as
loud and as long as the most
ardent followers of college and
pro basketball.
The consensus among those
parents whose kids are involved
in this league, is that such activi
ties are needed in order to
expose the youth to the rigors of
competition, wile keeping them
busy and off the street where
they may be tempted to indulge
in harmful activities.
