Church, where the Rev. Carrington Carter is the pastor. The celebration commemorated the vic tory won in the Supreme Court June 3,1929. tOn that day, the Supreme Court decided that the members of the Temple were indeed Shriners and entitled them to continue their activities as such. The month of June, as a result, is a time for jubila tion, consecration, and rededication to the high principles of the Shriners. Middie D. Glymph Jr. is the illustrious potentate of Sethos Temple, No. 170. ~ Nat'l conference on black men in crisis to be held A national conference focusing on the black male will be held August 28-30 at the General Board of Discipleship and Scarritt-Bennett Center in Nashville, Tfenn. The con ference is the first of its kind where experts from all over the United States will discuss issues affecting the progress of the black male and solutions to the demise of the black male in America. ^? ?The theme, "Black Men in Cri ' sis ? Regaining Our Balance" will provide discussion on many kinds of racism that continue to deny and divide black men from equal oppor ics that affect black males will be discussed, such as male and female relationships, self-worth and self esteem, education and skill-build ing, Christian faith and spirituality, and substance and drug abuse. In essence, the conference will edu cate people on solutions to the crisis facing the black male. The registration fee for attend ing the conference is $50.
