Coach Williams Is A True Disciplinarian By DEBY JO FERGUSON Chronicle Sports Writer James Williams has been coaching basketball for five years, girls basketball for rwo of the five. Williams is a graduate of East Forsyth High School and also a graduate of Forsyth Tech, with a degree in Electronic Data Process ing. "I also coached soccer for four years here at Reynolds High School on both the JV boys and girls pro gram," Williams said. I started coaching my son about six years ago in soccer. The more I helped him. the more I liked it. "We have a very young team here. They're inexperienced, but they're getting better every week and they don't get discouraged. "My job is to help them get bet ter. 'I'm a very disciplinary coach who believes in working hard and never quitting," Williams said. "I have two players I'd like to bring attention to, although it takes the whole team to play a good gajne. "Dana Covitz is a hard worker and wants to get better. She asks a lot of questions, but that lets me know that she wants to become a better basketball player. She wants to be a leader. 'Jamesha Johnson has never played ball before and from the time "As a coach I'm real proud. " ? Coach Williams he started to now. she has improved greatly. Johnson is harder on herself than- anyone else is. That's a sign of a good player. If she stays with the program I believe she'll be a good player," Williams said. "As a coach I'm real proud. We've had. a tough win/loss record, but as long a the team works hard I'll feel good about our season no matter what our record is." Williams said.
